Electric Guitar Lessons for beginners in South London

Whether you’re looking to pick up a new hobby, improve your playing for an academic goal, or start your own music project: there are countless reasons to become a guitarist and I’d love to help you reach your goals.
I teach beginner students the rudiments of electric guitar, focusing on technique, theory, and practical skills to improve guitar playing ability and confidence.
I teach electric guitar lessons to students of all ages from my home in Peckham, in the South London, and remotely online.
What will we cover?
Technique
Play your guitar the right way. Throughout our lessons, we’ll go over the best ways to play your instrument, from holding the plectrum correctly through to alternate picking.
We’ll make sure you’re comfortable playing your guitar and that you are set up for the future with good playing habits.
Theory
Ever wondered why a riff or chord progression sounds great or seems to ‘make sense’? Demystify the hows and whys of what makes something sound great on guitar.
We’ll cover music theory in an approachable and comprehensible way to ensure that you not only know how to make the what you’re playing sound great, but understand why it does as well. We’ll cover topics such as scales, chords, modes and tabs.
Practical Skills
Learn practical skills like improvisation, composition, and learn songs from your favourite artists. We’ll learn how to write your own songs, how to improvise, and much more.

I offer electric guitar lessons from my home near Peckham Rye. I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and Vox AC4C1 to choose from, so all you’ll need to bring is your guitar and we’re good to go!

For electric guitar lessons at your home, I offer the same base rate plus £5 to cover travel expenses.

*I typically offer At Your Home services to students in the boroughs of Southwark, Lewisham, and Greenwich. However, please do enquire if you live outside of this area and are interested in lessons.
